1) Describe the Assignment?

. The assignment was for the class to create two different types of presentations to chose between Prezie or SlideShare. My partner and I chose to use Slide Share. The class were to present our presentations using these two presentation software found online. We had to present our topic to the rest of the class while they're looking at our power point online and following along.

2) What are the benefits of having an online presentation software and what would you do differently?

I really go against online presentation softwares because there are a lot of technical difficulties in the internet connectivity. Once the presentation can't be achieve then the class can't go on with the rest of the activities planned. A couple of advantages of slideshare is that teachers can upload their power point online and add audio to their presentation so that learners can get a presentation from a speaker from other than just reading main points that they might be confused on.  Prezie is really interactive, but at times if not used in the right way then the teacher might make the students dizzy.

3) What are the features you liked about the slideshare?

The audio podcast is really a great feature that I liked from SlideShare. The only problem is that if teachers want to use the other features they must pay a huge fee that isn't worth their money.

4) What were the challenges?

Prezie was really difficult to use and really irritating. This is why I just went into the simple and traditional ways of creating a presentation. I like the traditional way better than the Prezie. Short and Simple can make a lot of difference than flashy features.

5) How would you use slidershare in your future Classroom?

Slide Share is a great material to give students who missed their class because students can look up the powerpoint online and hear the teacher speak in the presentation of SlideShare. The teacher may provide instructions that may be helpful to students who are struggling to achieve the concepts that the teacher is trying to portray in the powerpoint in the slide share program.Sli

1) Describe the Assignment?

The assignment for Weebly was to create a Professional Online Portfolio that teachers can use as a page where people see how is the teacher they want to research about. We were assigned to create pages like About me pages, Skills and Awards, Education, Hobbies and interest, and etc. 

2) What are the benefits of having an online portfolio?

The benefits of an online portfolio is that it is made intentionally for Employers to look at to see the person who they're going to hire. I think it is a huge advantage for people to have because having a resume takes a lot of money because of constant changes and new information to input, but with an online portfolio it is easy to edit and easy for employers to see. Tip: Change your facebook account.

3) What are the features you liked about the weebly site?

I liked how we can create pages for certain topics we want to separate from other information so that it is more organized and easy to access information for employers really want to see. I also liked the features of certain options we can choose from like dragging options to our pages like titles, paragraphs, photos, videos, links, and others. The title on the top of the page is pretty cool too. It is easy for people to use to design and we can also add different thematic photos for our page. 

4) What were the challenges? 

There is only one challenge from this is and that is to publish. At first I was confused how to publish and didn't really know what to do until I asked a classmate it became clear and easy to use. I think people should type what they want first in Microsoft word and then copy and paste it to the site because there is no grammar check in this site and grammar is a huge issue in general around the world. 

5) How would you use Weebly in your future Classroom?

I would use the weebly site to use for my students to use so they can get to know more in a professional level and assure them they're in good hands. I would also use this for student's parents. I believe that this weebly is better than blogger, but weebly is limited and not free. I think in the future they'll start charging people more than it is actually worth. Blogger is free and easy to use.

Describe the assignment?

The assignment for this week was to promote technology literacy. The site i used to create this comic above is www.pixton.com . I really enjoyed this program because there was so many things I had to play with. Minji and I were at first getting mad at this program and then once we got the hang of it, we became better in editing and creating pictures.

I would highly recommend this site if a teacher wants to introduce a topic to the class more differently. This is a great site and it is free.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it may be very limited and changing the size of objects and characters maybe very difficult, but with much practice and determination this site will hold on to its own expectations for teachers and students.

QuizYourFriends and Rubistar

Descrive your assignment?

Quizyourfriend is a program that people can use to quiz their friends on their personal lives to show how much you know about your friends. I have used this program in facebook where it actually was alot of people because everyone who actually thought they knew you didn't actually know a lot of things they should know. IT is fun where people wants to be the person that knows your the most. In an educational view we can use this program to see how much a student knows about the topic they've read and it is great because it is multiple choice and the teacher choses what questions should be asked.

This is a great educational tool that teachers can use and I've been seeing these types of quizzes in my other online classes.

Rubistar is a great rubric generator because it is to use and easy to take out the rubric from the site using teacher knowledge skills to take it out for free. It is easy to use and friendly. It gives ideas that teachers can grade their students on and can be easily modified to the teacher's desire for grading their students.This is a great educational tool to help teachers create rubric categories because it is so difficult to make at times.

Week 8 March 15-21

Describe your assignment?

Our assignment for this week was to create a video using flip cameras as a group. Our task was to come up with a technology that will help benefit the educational field of learning environment. We then had to input our data in the computer and using Imovie to edit and enhance our video.

What features did you use in i-movie to enhance your video?

The features my group used was the theme that introduces each scene, audio voice changes that made our video have an epic dramatic tone to one scene, we used the voice recorder to make our video more like a commercial, and we also added music from the i-movie gallery.

What did you like/dislike about i-movie?

I really like I-movie because it was easy to use. I know it is difficult at first to use the program, but once you get the hang of it then the program will benefit for the results you're looking for. I like the audio changers, slow/fast motion changer, themes, color changer, voice recorder, and etc.

Would you use it in your classroom?

I got to admit that I really dislike Mac computers because I never got to use it so much as I use window products. I find it easier to use windows as to Macs. I would totally use the program as it is really helpful and fun to use.

How did you like the flip cam? pros or cons?

I really like how the flip cams was so accurate in the sounds it records and the quality of the video it takes. It is easy to carry around and easy to use. The cons in my opinion is you have to wait until you put the camera in a computer to see the results. The other problem in the flip cam is that there are no extra features to choose from. It is very limited and it is just used for taking a video and nothing else. It would be cool if it can take pictures, but then again there is no feature that makes you check your previously filmed shots.

Give an overall rating to this assignment?

I really enjoyed this assignment. It was really fun to work with the other students and fun our creative side. It really took out the shy side of ourselves and showed what we can do. Not, by just learning, but also acting, speaking, and making fun of ourselves. It was a fun assignment. The only thing i dislike it that meeting up with the other group mates was difficult, but we made time to meet with a couple of us and fill in the person who is missing or absent in our meeting. I also dislike that the other groups didn't present because it is really an experience they're missing out on.

WEB QUEST!

1) Talk about the project concept and/ or how you chose the topic for this project.

The way My partner and I chose our topic was based on the learning necessities of students these days. Nouns was a broad subject to discuss. So, My partner and I came up with a way to introduce the topic of what makes a noun.

2) Why did you choose this topic? What is the learning outcome or purpose of your Web Quest?

We chose this topic because Nouns are really important in learning Language Arts. Teachers and student at times forget that nouns is what makes the whole part of any language complete. The learning outcome is to illustrate and identify different types of nouns. 

3) In what way will this Web Quest improve your students learning?

Web Quest improves the method of E-Learning where students can take their learning in their own hands with the help of technology. As the internet and computers have helped us with our learning needs. Web quest will further the knowledge and as well as assess students knowledge to be better learners in the future.

4) What did you think was the most important lesson you learned from this activity?

The most important lesson I learned from this activity is another way of finding resources in lesson planning that we lack knowledge off. It is a great way of finding approaches in teaching students in a new subject that the teacher wants to teach to their class. Web Quest is also a great site where it gives a template of how to make a lesson plan. It is also great for parents to get involved in their children's studies. 

5) What did you like or dislike about the software or web-based online tool you used?

I liked everything, except the assessment portion because rubrics are not the only way of assessing students. It was limited, but it is good because it is a free software. I want to see evaluation programs that could be installed in the web quest with selective answers to choose from.

6) What would you do differently next time you do this activity and/or use this tool?

I would use better resources experiment with different sites that can be integrated with the webquest site that further enhance the lesson planning and the learning of the students.

3 Week 4 Feb 2-8 Blogger.com

The assignment of this site is really great. I actually would use this program like I said in my forum response in the ED 480 Technology Education Forum. The assignment was fun because it was easy to use and didn't have to go to other sites to find layouts like what i used to do when I had a myspace page. This site would help me as a teacher to get connected with parents more often than possible and also keep parents aware of their children's progress. It is a better way to post a newsletter because what I have seen in my other class they had to print out pages of all the things that could be posted online. I think that it would save parents the time to be updated with their children's work without the hassle of going to school and looking at their work or the thoughts of their children not learning and blaming the teacher. I would rate this site a 10/10 because it is free and easy to use. The layout, background, and etc. was very interactive and the process of additional links made it more fun and easier place for people to find more sources.

Week 2 Jan/26-Feb 1/ 2012

The Wordle program we used was really helpful. I actually used it as one of my lesson plans and projects as well. It is a useful program to get students interacted with new words and vocabulary. It can also be a assessment tool to show the class as a whole on which words are students struggling in and not let the students feel ashame of their answers. I would grade the Wordle program to be a 10/10.

The other program I want to talk about is the Buble.us program because it is a great way to create concept maps. It is free and very manipulative to use in other lesson plans that the teacher wants to use to teach their students. I would rate this site as a 8/10 due to the fact that I struggled a bit in saving my files had to convert it to the art program that fits my computer.

In the first day in the class of ED 480 Technology Education we did introductions in the class with the internet site called "Tech-nology.com" I rate it to be 10/10 because it has a software that is free and people could use time lines to differentiate events.

Skills Assessment

I believe that I am very skilled in most of the microsoft program instead of Excel and Powerpoint. I want to learn more about how to use those word processors.

In the class I finally understood the concept of moodle the online site where we do our assignments and forums, I believe it is very easy to use now and it saves a lot of time and money to go print out our work or sent it to the instructor. Now we as students can read each others post and relate to one another.
